First weeks in Singapore

PSA buildingSo here am I working on the 11th floor of the PSA building on Alexandra Road, Singpaore (left). Having decided to retire from Deloitte and take life easy I am working full time (on an interim basis) for a large Pharmaceutical group and responsible for a team that works across the Asia Pacific region.

I got here on the 4th March and Vicky arrived a few days later on the Friday evening. Since then we have been checking out the city, settling into our apartment in Great World City, catching up with some old university friends who live out here and starting to explore the region.

At work I am also finding my feet, meeting regional and country heads, and helping the team to plan their next round of reviews. Next week we are off to Bangalore to close an assignment there and the following week we will be in Jakarta.

First impressions are promising. The people are very friendly and a real melting pot of cultures - local Singaporeans, Malay, Chinese, Taiwanese, and European expats. The food is amazing - from S$4 meals in Hawker Centres and Food Courts to smarter restaurants of every nationality.

Over the coming weeks I will build up a series of pages, linked in the box on the right. In the meantime I am setting out some pictures from our initial stay below.
