Caribbean Easter 04

Lara at the creasHoggard in actionThe first full day of our Easter holiday in the Caribbean finds us in excellent seats in the Kensington Oval to watch the downfall of the West Indies Cricket team.

On a showering Barbados day the Windies struggle to 94 all out in their second innings to be soundly beaten by England.
First beer of the dayThe Carib girlsWith ample supplies of Carib beer we start to educate the Canadians in the laws of cricket. Heather and JP soon have the hang of LBWs, overs, byes and sixes.

Meanwhile the Carib girls in the Barbados party stand next door are really getting into the swing of it.
English flagsThe Barmy ArmyThe locals are hugely outnumbered by the Barmy Army. St George's Crosses bedeck the ground and when Hoggard gets his hat-trick the crowd go wild.

With the WI all out the English go in and make it look so easy. Balls are bouncing off the side of the stand as we explain to Heather what a 6 is.
A few beers laterThe first English Test Series victory over the West Indies for 26 years sees a lot of fans looking exhuberant if rather 'tired'.

Even the rain could not prevent the inevitable. Thanks to Marilyn for getting us such great tickets and starting our holiday in such style.
